Air Canada Classes of Service

Before making your Air Canada booking, it is important to get yourself familiarized with the three classes of service offered by the airline - Business/Signature, Premium Economy, and Economy.   • Signature Class: The Signature Class cabins offer two different types of services - the Executive Pod and the Classic Pod. While both the services feature AVOD on a touch screen, noise cancelling headphones, and XM Satellite Radio music, the Executive Pod takes your experience a notch higher with electronic flat bed seats in a 1–2–1 reverse herringbone configuration with a 21-inch seat width and a 6-foot-7-inch seat pitch, along with an 18-inch touch screen for AVOD. On the other hand, the Classic Pods feature electronic flat bed seats in a 1–1–1 herringbone configuration with a 21-inch seat width and a 6-foot-3-inch seat pitch, along with a 12-inch touch screen for AVOD.

Here’s what you can expect on Business Class - a 1–2 abreast seat configuration with a recline of around 120°, and a width of 20 inches. The Airbus and Boeing narrow-body aircrafts provide a 2–2 abreast seat configuration with a 124° recline, and 21 inches seat width. The seat pitch is 37 to 38 inches. On Trans-Atlantic routes operated with the Boeing 737 MAX 8, this cabin is branded as Premium Economy.

Economy Class passengers enjoy a seat pitch of 30 to 32 inches with a width of 17.2 to 18.5 inches and a recline to 4.5 to 6 inches, in a seat configuration of 3–4–3 (Boeing 777), 3–3–3 (Boeing 787), 2–4–2 (Airbus A330), 2–3–2 (Boeing 767), 3–3 (Boeing and Airbus narrowbody aircraft), and 2–2 (Bombardier and Embraer aircraft).

Air Canada Baggage Policy

Air Canada's carry-on luggage policy entitles you to one cabin bag weighing no more than 10kg, with dimensions within 9 x 15.5 x 21.5 inches, plus one personal item within the dimension of 6 x 13 x 17 inches. In addition, you can carry items such as a diaper bag, pushchair or small purse within the dimensions of 10 x 12 x 5.5 inches. Guests travelling with an infant on lap may carry an additional standard cabin bag for the child’s belongings.

For checked baggage, the maximum permissible weight is 23 kg with dimensions not exceeding 62 inches. The checked baggage allowance also depends on the class of service and the flight route.
